This information has primarily been compiled for the purpose of helping people who live in remote areas, far from hospitals, doctors, or health care centers. It is intended to give clear instructions of things that can be done to help a person who is sick or injured. There are, however, many situations and health problems that really do require the care and treatment of trained health care worker, doctors, or surgeons.

to be taken to a doctor or health care center
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Do not delay getting help when it is needed!
In these emergency situations, the information found on this site can give you ideas on how you can care for the person until you are able to get them to a health care center, but without the help of a trained health care worker, the person is at great risk and may even die.
There are many advantages to taking a sick or injured person to a health care center:
1) Doctors and health care workers have many years of study and experience that qualifies them to care for many different health problems, including emergency situations that cannot be treated without special knowledge or equipment.
2) Health care centers have all the tools and equipment needed to give complete health care to a sick or injured person. They also have the ability to do different tests to accurately determine what is wrong with the person.
3) Doctors and health care workers can put the person on IV’s, give injections, blood transfusions, and other special procedures if needed.
4) Doctors and health care workers will be able to do operations, if the person’s condition requires it.
An emergency situation should always be overseen by a person who is trained in health care. The information on this site is meant to help you care for the less serious cases and to help you know when a situation is urgent and needs the care of professionals.
